Video: Lights! Camera! Action!

TALENTED film, drama and media students from Havant College have completed their first day of filming after months of preparation.

Under the guidance of Chichester Harbour Conservancy the students are turning the diaries of Strahan Soames, an Emsworth man, into a short film.

The first day of filming took place at New Park Cinema, in Chichester.

Charlie Schultz, writer, researcher and production manager, said: “We spent four weeks researching months ago and began to write the script from there.

“We want the film to look as authentic as possible.

“It’s really good fun.”

The story will document part of Mr Soames’ life as an anti-aircraft gunner in the second world war.

Students are also getting professional help from an Emsworth-based film company, Millstream Productions.

A premier of the film will be held in May.
