FURRY lipped police officers who raised hundreds of pounds for charity by growing moustaches in November took part in a group tache-shaving event on Monday.
A group of 11 officers raised approximately £500 for St Wilfrid’s Hospice through their ‘Movember’ challenge.
The men decided to take on the bristly campaign after being encouraged by PCSO Richard Moorey’s wife Alison who is secretary for the hospice.
Alison said: “We are really very grateful to the team for supporting the hospice and the money they raised will go toward our much needed care for patients and families.”
Six of the men attended Creations Hair and Beauty salon in Southgate on Monday December 1 to enjoy a celebratory shave-athon.
The men who took part in the shave were Tangmere PCSO Richard Moorey, Selsey North and South PCSO Sean Keefe, Sidlesham PCSO Jacob McQuillan, Bosham PCSO Jason Lemm, Chichester East PCSO Sean Trebble and PC Alex Johnston.
‘Movember’ is a national campaign which encourages men to grow moustaches throughout November and raise funds and awareness for charities.
