WEST SUSSEX residents have been warned to prepare for heavy rain – as the Met Office issues a yellow warning for the south of the country.
Overnight tonight, there is an expected band of showers and thunderstorms crossing the area, which could see 3cm of rainfall in just three hours.
There is also the potential of isolated gusts up to 60 mph along the south coast which could lead to falling debris, especially leaves and branches.
The Met Office said there was some uncertainty as to the exact locations which would see the greatest rain totals although southern areas were currently expected to be at the greatest risk.
