A GROUP of artists from the area will converge on West Wittering Village Hall for an affordable art weekend on Saturday and Sunday (November 3 to 4).
Spokeswoman Ann Martin, of Worthing, explained they number 12 women and one man, the latter being Ann’s husband.
“We have come together through meeting at other exhibitions like the Oxmarket, the Chichester Art Trail, the Arundel Festival Art Trail. Some people have exhibited in London. It’s quality.
“There is painting and ceramics, glass, enamelling, jewellery, textiles – a real variety of mediums. We have talked about having a name for the group, but we haven’t actually given ourselves one yet.”
Ann, who does silver and copper jewellery, said: “We call it an affordable art weekend. When you exhibit at a lot of places, you have to pay an enormous amount for the privilege of exhibiting, but the idea here, exhibiting somewhere you have to pay less, is that we can actually sell things at a reasonable price.
“Exhibiting is the pleasure of having somebody else admire your work. There is a satisfaction of having somebody else appreciating what you are doing.”
