AN AMBITIOUS project to replace the pontoons at Thornham marina is under way.
The four-month scheme, which will see new finger pontoons installed throughout the harbour, marks the end of a two-year refurbishment project.
After a new shower block was built and with the new Multihull World Brokerage office nearing completion, marina manager Jeanette Critchell described the new pontoons as ‘the icing on the cake’.
The replacement work, which is being carried out by Walcon Marine, means the fairways will have ample turning room and there will be plenty of space on each of the finger pontoons, each of which will have their own Rolec electrical point.
Water stations will be available on the pontoons and there will be life buoy stations and emergency boxes on each walkway.
