Family Open Day at Pallant House Gallery

VISITORS can enjoy Pallant House Gallery for free at a family open day this weekend (Sunday, March 17).

There will be a chance to view the gallery’s world-class collection of Modern British Art and some special temporary exhibitions.

As well as the gallery’s permanent collections, including works by Peter Blake and Henry Moore, visitors will also be able to take a look at some of the temporary exhibitions including Barbara Hepworth: The Hospital Drawings and selected drawings and paintings made by Sussex artist Laetitia Yhap during her twenty-year immersion within the fishing community of Hastings Stade.

There will also be the opportunity to take part in family-friendly activities for a small charge.

In Room 11, there will be badge making (£2), and biscuit making (£1), as well as the chance to sample free coffee courtesy of De’Longhi and a creative family drop-in activity in the Studio (donations appreciated).

Entry to the gallery’s major dual-venue retrospective of the work of significant post-war painter R.B. Kitaj; Obsessions – Analyst for Our Time, will be half price.

The gallery will be open from 11am to 5pm. The activities available will take place from 12pm to 4pm.
