STAFF and pupils at Singleton Primary School have welcomed brand-new outdoor equipment funded by the lottery.
Shimmy ropes, weaving poles and a tightrope crossing will now encourage creative play for school children on the field.
The school also has seven new rainbow picnic benches, manufactured from recycled plastic milk bottles which will provide enough seating for the whole school to be able to work and eat lunch outside.
Christopher Todd, head teacher, said: “The aim of this latest development is to continue to enhance the school grounds. The playing field had been something of a blank canvas, but the arrival of this play equipment follows on from the installation of a storytelling area and wooden gazebo last year and provides a strong impetus to the plans to enhance this area of the school.
“The school is situated within the South Downs National Park and these developments will allow the pupils more opportunities to make the most of this stunning natural environment.
“We are immensely grateful to the Big Lottery Fund for their support of the local community and their generosity in making these developments possible.”
