A CINEMATIC festival will descend on Emsworth to mark a ten-year anniversary.
Sian and George Georgeou, owners of the Greenhouse Cafe, will be holding the fundraising event on Saturday, October 6, and Sunday, October 7, to celebrate their anniversary.
The event celebrates the history of the Greenhouse cafe in its clock and bell tower building, which has a long history, and was a Pavillion Cinema in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
Their anniversary is being commemorated by celebrating with a pop-up cinema in their courtyard area.
Many businesses have sponsored the event and all profits made will be donated to Cancer Research UK.
The event will showcase a variety of different films for all ages, from The Muppets Movie, to a rolling programme from Chichester Harbour Conservancy.
Sunday is cycle cinema day, with films being screened by cycle power.
Two adults and one childrens bike will be hooked up to a generator which will store up the cycle power and run the projector, laptop and speakers that will be running the films throughout the day.
The bicycles being used have been provided by Emsworth Cycles and the cycle generators from a company based in Waterlooville.
Some of the films will touch upon sustainability issues and Chichester Harbour Conservancy staff will be involved during the event, as well as members from Havant Youth Council. Tickets are available from the Greenhouse Cafe in St Peter’s Square.
