Act faster on tippers

CHICHESTER District Council in their self-congratulatory publication Initiatives encourages residents

to report abandoned vehicles and fly-tipping.

In my role as a parish councillor I was a little surprised when, after reporting an incident of both recently, it took ten days to respond and subsequently nothing has happened.

This sends out two messages: one to the perpetrators that they can escape punishment; and a second to the tax payer that there is little point in reporting it.

Could I suggest that CDC spend a little less time telling us how marvellous they are and a little more time proving it?
