I live in West Way (off Pine Grove) and wholeheartedly endorse Roger Mill’s recommendations (letters, last week) following the accident on the B2178 Old Broyle Road.
My family have suffered two motor accidents at the Pine Grove and Hunters Race junctions – both causing injury and substantial damage (a brand-new car was written off) which were caused by speeding motorists.
I have phoned and written to West Sussex County Council (Highways) to clear the footpath that runs along the B2178 as it is covered in grass and overgrowing vegetation, forcing pedestrians (including the elderly and children) using the path, dangerously close to vehicles travelling often in excess of 60mph.
This has still not been done.
What other accidents and placing lives at risk need to happen before this urgent safety work and proposals are undertaken?
