Could you please pass our most happy thanks to the cast of the Bosham Oldies who gave a rip-roaring hour-long show to the residents and their family’s at Tenchly Manor Nursing Home in Selsey.
With all the bad weather and the country in freefall misery, it was a pure delight to have this splendid company of entertainers give such a first-class fun-filled afternoon of songs, sketches and humour to raise the spirits of everyone present at this great little social afternoon on a freezing cold day in Selsey.
This group of entertainers are all over the retirement age and showed age is no barrier to anyone prepared to get up and give it your best shot – and they did that with ease.
Some of the voices would have put a lot of others to shame in this day and age of so-called music, we were given the 60s and old-time music hall in crystal-clear voices, and some very funny sketches and lots of costume changes.
I can’t recall a nicer way to spend a dull, freezing cold day than enjoying the joy created by this fine and wonderful bunch of real entertainers; the afternoon ended on a very high note as wine and chocolates were served to a very delighted audience.
Thank you, Bosham Oldies, who did what King Canute failed to do: you stopped the tide of glumness and made all our hearts happy.
