THE NHS is the subject of much adverse comment in terms of patient care and management these days so it gives my wife and I great pleasure to record an entirely different experience.
I was admitted to the Acute Cardiac Care unit via Accident and Emergency last Sunday. During my stay in both departments we were very impressed at the high standard of professional care I received. In addition all the staff in both departments were friendly, supportive, sensitive to my needs and kept us fully informed about what was happening.
Everybody introduced themselves by name and asked me what I would like to be called. These little touches can make such a difference.
All in all, well done St Richard’s.
