Just Wood Flooring Specialists is the latest business to be in with a chance of scooping a prestigious prize at the Observer Business Awards 2008.
The Bognor-based company is one of the many entries to flood in to the
Observer and was entered for the customer service award by one of its partners, Alastair Smyth.
And the business certainly seems to be proving popular with customers.
On the Checkatrade website, which details feedback from customers on businesses they have used, Just Wood Flooring Specialists has received more than 650 recommendations.
"We entered last year's awards and had a fun evening so we decided to enter this year," said Mr Smyth.
"The customer service is what sets us apart and the Checkatrade recommendations speak volumes. We now have about ten folders of letters from customers who have been pleased with our work.
"If you treat people as you like to be treated, you can't go far wrong. We treat every customer as if they are our only customer. It is a simple thing but it is effective."
The business gives a new lease of life to old and tired floors, and renovates churches, halls, schools and sports halls as well as homes.
The business was established in June 1993 and has seven employees.
The company has had its fair share of awards in the past, and was highly commended in the business of the year category for six to ten employees in last year's Observer awards.
It has also won small business of the year award at the Littlehampton Business Partnership ceremony in 2006 and was runner-up in the small business of the year category in the same event in 2007.
Just Wood Flooring Specialists is one of the latest entries for the Observer awards. But hurry, because the deadline for all entries is looming.
Entering is easy. Simply complete the details in our special awards pack, and return it to the Observer.
And then wait to discover whether our judges have short-listed you for an award.
Soon after the closing date of February 27, 2009 the independent panel of judges will assess every entry.
All the companies successfully making it on to the short-list will be offered first chance to buy a table at the glittering black-tie Observer Business of the Year awards ceremony on March 27, 2009.
There is nothing to prevent companies from entering more than one category. Entry is free.
The judging panel will comprise distinguished personalities from the business world.
Good luck. We look forward to meeting you in March.
