YOBS shouted abuse at paramedics before a teenager headbutted an ambulance window.
A park keeper called the ambulance crew to Buckingham Park, Shoreham, after he found a 16-year-old girl having a fit.
When they arrived, the medics found a large group of youths who were drunk.
But while they were trying to treat the victim, the teenagers started shouting abuse at them. The crew felt so intimidated they called the police.
But in the meantime one of the teenage gang ended up head butting a window of the ambulance smashing it.
He was arrested by the police and taken into custody. The girl who was unwell was taken to hospital.
Louis Frost, 19, from Brighton, was later charged with causing criminal damage to the ambulance and possession of cannabis, which was found on him when he was searched by police.
Security Manager for South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Trust, Bill Chilcott, said: "We believe that our staff should be able to do their job without the threat of being attacked or actually being assaulted and as such the Trust will do what it can to try and prevent violence against our staff.
"Anecdotally we know those who abuse or assault our staff are often drunk or under the influence of drugs. This is no defence for such behaviour."
