The outdoor bowls season is in full swing, and we've got a full set of reports from around the local greens.
PAGHAM
Four mixed triples were away to Middleton, but Pagham won on only one rink and lost 65-56.
Scores: Derek Pugh, Iris Brooker, Peter Brooker lost 15-14, Arthur Guppy, Maureen King, Eric King lost 20-18, Diana Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, Annie Ross won 14-11, Sabina Livermore, Sylvia Pugh, Roy Livermore lost 19-10.
Pagham ladies took two CM League rinks and two friendly triples to Maltravers.
The league side lost by one shot in a nip and tuck game, earning one point from the 36-35 loss. The friendly triples won 35-28.
Scores: Diana Mitchell, Sylvia Pugh, Sheila Stocker, Gill Conley drew 16-16, Sabina Livermore, Iris Brooker, Chris Mayoss, Maureen King lost 20-19, Beverly Quilter, Carol Penny, Joan Wells lost 28-10, Margaret Rees, Doreen Ellis, Marlene Steel won 18-7.
The ladies travelled with three triples to Storrington, where they won 59-39.

Pagham men hosted four friendly rinks from Norfolk but lost 82-60.

The mixed triples in the BM League, playing at Arundel, won all six points in a 36-29 victory.

CHICHESTER
Chichester 94 Arundel 58
Chichester hosted Arundel in a friendly and after 11 ends held an eight-shot lead.
The second half saw Chichester open up a big advantage, going on to take the match by 36 shots, with Alan Bowler skipping their top rink to a 19-shot win.

Chichester 89 Homefield Park 80
Chichester took on Homefield Park in a mixed friendly and after 17 ends Chichester had a 16-shot lead.
With one end to play, Homefield Park had reduced the deficit to four shots, but Chichester rallied on the final end and were victorious by nine shots. Alan Bowler's four finished 26 shots up.

Chichester club champion Simon Tooley demolished first-round
opponent Chris Young of Worthing in the Champion of Champions at Priory Park.
Young is one of Worthing's better bowlers, but he was left reeling when Tooley beat him 21-4 in just 12 ends, picking up three threes in the process.
Tooley faces the Sussex county champion of champions Ollie Ovett in the next round at Priory Park.
MIDDLETON
Middleton's first fixture of the season was at Aldingbourne, with two rinks in the Brooks Motor League and two rinks friendly.
Scores: League: T Finch, J Gower, R Wootten 10-27; D Gower, D Cross, I Smith 15-18; Lost 25-45. Friendly: J Bagley, G Addicott, J Graham 14-4; C Graham, A Nurse, G Smith 18-19; Won 32-23.
A friendly against Pagham resulted in a 65-56 win.

Another friendly win came at home to Arundel, 64-58 the score.

In their second fixture in the Brooks Motors League, playing at home Middleton won by 28 shots.

CRABLANDS
Crablands lost on all four rinks in the first game in the Littlehampton Gazette League against Chichester.
It was very close, with three rinks losing only narrowly.

Crablands drew in a friendly against neighbours Little Spain.

On a cold afternoon at Telepost, Crablands won.

Crablands lost narrowly when they visited Bedhampton with four rinks. Top rink for Crablands was Marion Brown's with a 24-16 win.

In their first league match of the season, Bognor collected maximum points in a one-sided match.

Hotham's men got off to a good start in the Littlehampton Gazette League, picking up 8 points. Pete Hannam skipped the top rink.

Hotham also had success in the first game in the Brooks Motors Mixed Triple League Div 2, scoring 4 points.

In the annual Tom Rawlings Cup match, Hotham were victorious and reclaimed the Cup.

BROOKS MOTORS LEAGUE
The league has seven teams in each division this season.
Champions Chichester have yet to start their campaign but runners-up Norfolk made a bad start, dropping four points at home to Hotham.
In division two, Aldingbourne have made a flying start with four wins from four games, all at home.

FITTLEWORTH
The club opened their season at Pulborough. They managed to win on only one rink, losing the match by seven points.

STEDHAM
Playing away to Petersfield, Stedham came away with a 2-1 rinks win and a 52-45 victory on shots.
The next day, Stedham played at home to Midhurst and got a 2-1 rinks win and 49-42 win on shots.
PETWORTH
Petworth played at Horsham Park and took the honours with two rinks drawing and the other winning.

ALDINGBOURNE
Aldingbourne continued their winning run in the BM Triples League, taking all 12 points in their victories over Southbourne (58-23) and RAFA (58-22).
They carried on with wins in their friendly matches against Pulborough in a two-rink triples match (36-28) and a five-rink mixed match versus Lancing (127-82), losing to RAFA in a two-rink triples friendly (33-24).
In the four-rink Men's LG League against Worthing Pavilion, Alding-bourne picked up seven points by winning on two rinks, drawing one and losing one for a 93-77 victory.
Matt Bonner's team took top rink and a hotshot was scored on Fred Taylor's rink.
WITTERINGS
Witterings 63 Telepost 78
Witterings lost by 15 shots at home to Telepost in a mixed friendly triples game.
Scores: G Inglis, M Mulligan, D Bell (s) lost 17-9, S Hooker, M Aylward, J Edwards (s) lost 22-14, B Curtis, M Corbett, P Lillywhite (s) lost 27-18, T Mulligan, Di Leach, J Slogrove (s) won 22-12.

Witterings lost on both rinks at Aldingbourne, but had an enjoyable experience on Aldingbourne's new surface.

Witterings ladies won a three-rink friendly at home to Crablands. The afternoon finished with a tea provided by some new bowlers who have joined the Witterings.
