Encouraged by his friends at Manhood Community College, Robbie joined Selsey GC and was never short of playing partners in competition or practice.

Now with his own golf clubs, it was no surprise to see Robbie win the junior medal this week with a score of gross 96 nett 69. Runner-up was Daniel Osbourne (94, 71).

Not wanting to be outplayed by older brother John, who shot a nett 67 last week, George Cawte went one better in the Tuesday club medal, coming in the winner with gross 84, nett 66. Frank Bray was second.

Qualifying to play for Selsey Country Club in the 2008 Pro-Am in September were Dave Thompson (nett 69), Steve Baldwin (71) and Paul Juniper (73).
