Selsey are out of the relegation zone again at the battle to stay in county league division one took another turn.

Selsey pulled out of the drop zone with a 4-0 win at fellow strugglers Rye.

All four goals came in the second half, with Jake Lafferty getting a hat-trick and Tom Ridley the other after Rye had been reduced to nine men.

Selsey boss Danny Hinshelwood said: 'We were the better side by miles and they just tried to kick us off the park. There is still a long way to go until we are safe but it was a major three points.'

Worthing United and Oakwood are both still in trouble after losing at home to Hassocks and Wick respectively.

Pagham are almost safe after Michael Frangou's 73rd-minute volley sealed a 1-0 win at Eastbourne United to pull them eight points clear of the relegation zone.

In division two, Midhurst suffered an embarrassing 8-2 defeat at Mile Oak - that after it was 1-1 after half-an-hour.

In division three, Bosham led 2-1 at home to Dorking but ended up 3-2 losers.

On Monday, Selsey visit Pagham and Chichester host Arundel.
