THE Bognor Colts under-12 festival took place at Aldwick's ground and saw Jim Smith and Dave Robinson coach their team in games against the likes of Chichester, Worthing, Midhurst and Arundel.
Bognor started against Chichester and only Ryan Maskell (11) and Tanya Wake (23) reached double figures as Bognor posted 99. Beck Hemingway took two for seven and Imogen Hibbard two for three.
Luke Miles took four for 15 but with a top score of 22 by Freya Davies, Chichester got home by four wickets and went on to reach the final.
Bognor were better against Midhurst and skipper Louis Paul (65), Harry Hood (42) and Josh Sargeant (54*) played well.
Bognor's spinners were superb with David Harris taking four for 14 and Luke Miles three for three. Midhurst capitulated for 44.
The game against Worthing was washed out after three overs, and against Arundel, Ben Roberts hit 39 in a score of 124 for eight. Luke Miles took two for 18 and Tanya Wake two for 20.
For Bognor, Ryan Maskell scored 62* and Josh Sargeant 40* to see their side home by eight wickets.
