Chichester an Selsey see winning runs come to end
Chichester City and Selsey both failed to make it three wins in a week as they slipped to defeats in division one of the county league.
With Pagham in FA Cup action - they went down 2-0 at Faversham - both clubs had the chance to close the gap on the Lions, who were third at the start of the day.
But ten-man City, who had Tom Broadbent sent off, lost 2-0 at home to Rye, while Selsey crashed 4-0 at Redhill.
The losses leave City ninth and Selsey eighth. Chichester go to Pagham on Tuesday night, when Selsey visit Arundel.
In division two, Midhurst battled to their first win of the season. Ashley Holloway's goal secured the 1-0 success at Seaford.
That lifted Midhurst to 13th in the table.
In division three, Bosham's good start continued when two late Gary Rowlands goals gave them a 3-1 win at Broadbridge Heath. Joe Hancock got the other goal as Bosham ended the day third in the table.
Promoted Barnham are also going well - they won 2-0 at Uckfield Town and lie fifth.
But bottom-of-the-pile Sidlesham continue to struggle for points after going down 1-0 at Haywards Heath.
