Eamon and Brian share honours in the Hunston sunshine
Chichester's veterans had fine sunshine for their annual championship over two rounds on the Hunston course.
The overall gross winner and champion for 2008, Eamon O'Keefe, returned 172.
A delighted Brian Mathews, who overcame a serious health problem last year, produced a 141 nett score to become the 2008 nett winner.
Chichester veterans produced a good home win over Lindfield (Haywards Heath) 5-2.

A total of 76 ladies from 22 clubs ranging from Royal Eastbourne in East Sussex to East Horton in Hampshire attended the eighth Chichester Ladies' Open.
The format was four-ball betterball with two divisions on a day which was dry but with an increasing wind that made some of the short holes difficult to club.
Two players who got it right to win the nearest-the-pins were Doreen White (Portsmouth) on the first hole and Sylvia White (also Portsmouth) on the third. Sylvia's shot hit the flag to land close by.
Division A was won with 43 points on countback by Ruth Rogers and Nikk Wade (Southwick Park) and Division B was won with a magnificent 48 points by Linda Coxon and Julie Jenner from Blackmoor.

In the latest cup competition, committee member Lesly Hance won the Joan Davis Rose Bowl with 41 points. Sue Tant was runner up with 38.
BOGNOR
One of the major competitions for the veterans' section at Bognor saw 28 pairs taking part in the Poston Foursomes Trophy.
There were some excellent scores, with the partnership of Doug Develin and Alan Burrage winning on 38 points on countback from Alan Taylor and Joe Cookson.
Third were Peter Selby and Clive Willis in 37.
Teams representing the veterans' section have achieved some good results in the past fortnight. Away at Corhampton they won 4-3.

Although there were some very close matches, the game at Cowdray Park was lost 5-3.

Golfers are being invited to hole their putts for charity at Bognor.
The club are hosting a Macmillan cancer support golf day on September 12.
The fundraising event will promote and support the charity's work in local communities through nurses, working with people in their own homes, at St Richard's Hospital and St Wilfrid's Hospice.
Bognor fundraiser Sue Bond said: "We'd like to invite keen golfers in the area to take part in what promises to be an exciting and challenging competition with some great prizes up for grabs."
Places are available for the four-ball stableford competition. Team entries cost 200, or 50 a player, of which at least 20 is paid to the charity.
The fee includes a bacon butty and coffee at registration and 18 holes of golf followed by a three-course dinner.
Players will take part in various competitions which include nearest the pin, longest drive and putting.

WEST SUSSEX GOLF CLUB
Harwoods of Sussex customers Patrick Luard and Jimmy Tucker took first and second place in the Bentley dealership's prestigious Golf Classic at West Sussex Golf Club.
Patrick, who lives in Wisborough Green, is a member of the West Sussex Golf Club and plays off eight.
Jimmy, of Horley, is a member at Copthorne and has a handicap of ten.
Both customers have secured a place in the UK final to be held at Bovey Castle, Dartmoor, where they will be challenged by golfers representing the remaining 21 Bentley dealerships across the country.
Harwoods general manager Simon Elkin is delighted with his customers' success.
He said: "Our competition is always very popular and to win it is a mark of considerable achievement.
"Bentley has selected the very best courses for its Golf Classic programme and I'm sure everyone who took part in the event at West Sussex Golf Club had an enjoyable day of fine golf."
