Bognor Town 9 Whyke Black 1

The deadlock was broken early by Ben Hauxwell after he beat a defender and put in a dangerous cross which took a slight deflection and ended up in the Whyke net.

Rob Peart added to Bognor’s tally but Whyke responded with a headed goal from a corner. Jack Parkinson converted a header and Bognor’s fourth was scored by Peart, a beautiful flick over the keeper.

Just before half-time Joe Bennett made it difficult for the keeper with a swerving long shot.

Bognor weren’t done and Jacob Van Driel scored a great goal.

Another substitute, Harry Wollers, added to added to the score with a great header. Parkinson added his second and so did Wollers, making it 9-1.

When Chi faced last season’s champions Bognor, the first 30 minutes were scrappy.

Then Ryan Johnson set up Jack Carson for an easy finish. Bognor were still reeling when Carson popped up again with a delightful finish in the top corner.

After some great through-balls from Jack Briant, sloppy defending from Bognor let Carson in to score another two.

Ferring Atoms 0 Selsey Seals 2

Selsey continued their strong start to the season with a fine win against a strong Ferring side.

There were strong performances from Sam Weaver alongside Eddie Montague at the back, with skipper Harry Terry snuffing out any attacks down the left ,with Jamie Thomkins doing the same down the right.

Selsey got the breakthrough after fine work from Jake Gibbs in midfield released Jensen Currurthers down the right.

He crossed for Toby Blanshard to turn and shoot and Ryan Hains got to the rebound before Luke Ayling followed up the loose ball and slotted in.

Levi Devlin, Ewan Lennox, Curruthers and Rhys Hall tackled and passed well in midfield.

After the break Blanshard and Daniel Howick were solid at the back. Joshua Jones made two outstanding saves from free-kicks.

A free-kick from Terry fell to Hains who finished with a fine lob over the Ferring keeper. MoM was Thomkins.
