Felpham Community College are celebrating after three of their football teams won their area finals.
They were played at Pagham and Bognor football clubs and saw the Year 9, 10 and 11 teams victorious.
The Year 9s won 13-3 against Bourne Community College. Four of their players also play for Sussex under-14s and two play for Brighton’s under-14s academy team. The man-of-the-match award went to Jamie Horncastle.
The Year 9s also reached the last eight of the national schools football competition for the second straight year.
The Year 10 team enjoyed a 4-1 win over Bourne Community College. Sam Grover, their 15-year-old Sussex schools player, fared well and Luke Vincent was announced as man of the match.
The Year 11 team had an 11-4 win against The Regis School. It’s the sixth consecutive year Felpham CC have reached that final, winning four out of those six. The Year 11 team included six Felpham Colts under-16s and a number of Pagham Football Club players.
Bryn Hauxwell, curriculum leader for PE at Felpham, said: “We’re particularly proud of our college football teams and ecstatic three of them won the area finals.”
