MIDHURST & Easebourne United’s under-15s have had a champion season.

They won their division by playing 22 league games and drawing and losing only one each.

The players’ player and parents’ player was Sam Cain.

Top scorer was Jake Burtoo with 48 goals and the managers’ award went to Lucas Thornley for outstanding attitude.

Manager Ed Warren said: “They have been a fantastic set of players throughout the season with great attitude and a desire to achieve, listening and giving 100 per cent.

“Although we have had some big wins, we also had to grind out some 1-0s and 2-1s. They really have fought hard and deserved to win the league.

“The parents have been phenomenal and supportive. Its been an incredibly enjoyable and rewarding experience managing these lads. I can’t thank them enough.”

Warren paid tribute to Sandra Largan for her amazing organisational skills, Mark Pelling for training the lads to such a great standard, Andy Field-Millard for helping when needed, Aaron Eade and Tom Cain for running the line, and all other parents and supporters.

The squad comprised Will Murphy, Patryk Wysocki, Reece Collins-Powell, Rhys Greet, Sam Cain, Aidan Largan, Jordan Warren, Karol Papaj, Aaron Wakeham, Chris Cain, Callum Thompson (captain), Jake Burtoo, Liam Field-Millard and Lucas Thornley.

Meanwhile Midhurst & Easebourne’s under-12s, under manager Pete Hill, won the C league of the Arun & Chichester Youth League, winning 15 games and losing just one.

More than 200 players and their families turned out for the youth teams’ presentation at Rotherfield.
