Selsey’s rise up the Sussex League division-one table under Adam Hinshelwood continued when a late strike from Habib Alao sealed a 3-2 win at Ringmer.
Calum Britton opened the scoring in the second minute for the visitors but a double for Marc Whiteman gave the home side the advantage. Jake Goulding grabbed the second goal for Selsey, who were helped by the dismissal of Ringmer’s Ryan Macmillan.
The win lifted Selsey to 12th and made it three away wins in a row for the High Street Ground outfit. Since their 8-1 defeat to Rye in September Selsey have won six consecutive games, scoring 18 goals along the way.
That run has seen Hinshelwood’s defensive experience shore up the backline superbly.
Alao’s strike was the third time in a row his name appeared on the scoresheet and brings his tally for the season to five.
The fine run came to a halt on Tuesday night, though, when Lancing won 1-0 at the High Street Ground.
On Saturday Selsey go to Lingfield in search of a fourth consecutive away win. On Tuesday they host Burgess Hill in the Sussex Senior Cup.
