Pagham six points clear after 11th win in 11

Pagham won the battle of the top two in division one of the Sussex League to surge six points clear at the top.

Their 2-1 success at second-placed Rye was their 11th league win from 11 games and keeps them on course for their dream of promotion to the Ryman League.

Selsey are improving fast - they won 3-0 at East Grinstead to climb to 15th, but Chichester City are just a place off the bottom after another defeat, 5-1 at Lingfield.

In division two, Midhurst turned in one of their best displays of the season so far to win 4-2 at Wick.

In the Sussex Intermediate Cup, Bosham beat Southwick seconds 5-2 - although only after extra-time - while Yapton lost 4-2 away to Peacehaven reserves. Sidlesham won 2-1 at Rustington reserves and Hunston CC are also through after winning 4-1 at Pease Pottage.

Pagham reserves lost 2-0 at Upper Beeding in the same competition.

Our three first-division sides are all on their travels again on Tuesday - leaders Pagham go to St Francis, Selsey are at Shoreham and Chichester visit Lancing.
