POMPEY goalkeeping legend Alan Knight will re-open Bosham’s refurbished clubhouse at Walton Lane, next Saturday, August 30.
It’s a huge coup for the Robins, who will welcome one of Pompey’s most decorated players and the current club ambassador as their guest of honour for a 1pm presentation in marking the completion of Sport England-funded work at the Recreation Ground.
Pompey fans who would like to come along to show their support will be made welcome. Knight will be available from 12.15pm for photos and autographs.
It’s been one of the busiest summers in Bosham’s recent history, following their £52,125 Inspired Facilities grant, which saw upgrades to the referee’s room, home and away dressing rooms, clubhouse lounge, kitchen, and both sets of toilets – in addition to electrical re-wiring, new roof, and funding of new perimeter railings and dugouts.
The improvements will give Bosham a strong platform in which to build future success and are something the club are keen to celebrate before taking the pitch for their first home fixture back in the Sussex League, against Clymping (3pm).
Sussex FA board members Paul Beard and Peter Down will be present to formally present Bosham’s FA Charter Standard award – a status the club achieved last season in recognition of being well-run and sustainable and providing quality coaching in a safe environment.
