Rocks on hunt for new welfare officer

The Rocks are searching for a new welfare officer.

For many years David Groom has held the role, which is vital within the club. He has carried out the role very diligently and the club are extremely grateful for his commitment. However, he has now moved away and the club need to appoint a suitable replacement.

The two main areas of responsibility are to have a clear understanding of the club’s responsibilities when running activities for children and young people and to help club personnel understand what their ‘duty of care’ towards children and young people means and entails on a day-to-day basis.

Further information on the role can be found at www.sussexfa.com/safeguarding

The successful candidate would sit on the Rocks’ management committee and be provided with whatever assistance he or she needed to effectively fulfil the role.

Bognor were extremely proud to be awarded the FA’s Charter Standard award, and the welfare role plays a major part in them continuing to hold it.

Anyone interested should contact secretary Simon Cook on 01243 864237 or 07527 455167.
