Selsey and Pagham toast awayday success - Chichester beaten again

Pagham and Selsey both won on the road in division one of the Sussex League - but Chichester City’s slump continued.

The Lions won 2-0 at Sidley to move into second place, while Selsey were 1-0 winners at Rye and they go back up to tenth.

But Chichester’s alarming run of form went on, their latest defeat a 2-0 reverse at Peacehaven. Adie Girdler’s men are now just nine points off the bottom three.

In division two Midhurst were well-beaten 5-0 at home by Loxwood.

Third-division action saw Bosham beat Hurstpierpoint 4-2 at Walton Lane - see picture action from that game in the Observer on Thursday.

Sidlesham went down 4-1 at home to Pease Pottage.

A little further afield, for the second week in a row, a county league game was abandoned late on after on-pitch trouble. A halt was called to the Arundel-East Grinstead game after 75 minutes, with some reports suggesting the EG manager took his players off the pitch after fighting broke out.
