There were five different scorers in a very one-sided game.

Just ten minutes in, Chichester went in front through Chloe Dowdell. Cherelle Khassal sprinted clear down the left and sent over a quality ball to the back stick, where Dowdell hammered it home unchallenged.

Sally-Anne Thompson had little to do in the City goal as a couple of efforts went wide and a decent shot from Kirsten Prior went narrowly over.

Chichester needed to regroup and Jess Lewry fired home after Dowdell cut the ball perfectly into her path.

Two minutes later, on the half-hour, Lucie Challen was scythed down for a free-kick and up stepped captain Becky Barron, to fire a sweet effort into the top corner.

Khassal was next to strike with around ten minutes to the break, squeezing the ball under keeper Abigail Evans, having been set up wonderfully by Molly Clark.

Moments later Khassall darted down the left and swung the ball in for Clark to fire home.

Chichester were in seventh heaven before the interval with further goals from Clark and Lewry.

On the resumption Chichester dominated but were wasteful in front of goal. Chances came for Khassall, Clark and Lewry but the net failed to bulge.

After the hour, Khassal got her second after being set up by Lewry. Late on Khassall nailed a deserved hat-trick with a sublime finish from 30 yards to complete a wonderful performance.

New signing Charley Wilson came on for her debut with time running out and came agonisingly close to opening her account.

Emma Alexandre also came on for her return from a recent back injury, replacing the excellent Lewry as Chichester showed the strength in depth at the manager Liam Greenfield’s disposal.

Chichester travel again this week as the FA Cup resumes with a tie at Haringey Ladies.

CCL: Thompson, Cheshire, Barron, Woodison, Clark, Lewry, Dowdell, Price, Khassall, Challen, Ryan. Subs: Alexandre, Wilson.
