RYAN TAYLOR’s outstanding goalscoring form will not see him jump to the front of Pompey’s contract queue.
There are 13 players whose deals expire this summer, among them the striker who has netted six times in the past seven matches.
But regardless of Taylor’s impressive contribution, Andy Awford has reiterated the club’s stance that no new contracts will be awarded until towards the end of the campaign.
In the meantime, the 26-year-old will have the opportunity of adding to his nine goals this season when the Blues visit AFC Wimbledon tomorrow.
But the ex-Rotherham player will have to remain patient regarding his future.
Awford said: ‘Nothing has changed.

‘Ryan is playing very well, he is in a rich vein of form and getting goals to go with his game now, but I have made it clear where we are it.
‘Nothing has changed on that one.
‘Of course it is a concern other clubs could come in for him, it is with all the players, not just Ryan.
‘We have lots of players out of contract, there are ones we want to retain for next season, of course there are, but that’s the game.
‘I would think there are 500 players that come into that category across the country.
‘We are waiting for lots of things – as a football club we are where we are and not in a position at the moment to offer new contracts out.
‘I think Ryan’s performances all season have been very, very consistent and obviously he has got his goals to go with it lately.’
Since arriving in January 2014 under Richie Barker, Taylor has netted 15 goals in 53 appearances.
