Glorious Goodwood: Tips for Tuesday

Who will be in the winner's enclosure on day one?

WELCOME to day one of your guide to which horses to back - and which ones to avoid - at Glorious Goodwood.

This year we have five tipsters going head-to-head each day with their selections for every race.

Our panel of pundits is headed by No1 female jockey Hayley Turner and Channel 4 Racing’s queen of the betting ring Tanya Stevenson.

Also putting their reputations on the line are Goodwood racecourse MD Adam Waterworth, Goodwood annual member Tony Castley (who was our top tipster last year with 12 winners across the festival) and Observer sports editor Steve Bone, who admits to being no more than a keen amateur and says he will pose for pictures in a Panama hat if he wins the contest.

You’ll be able to read the day’s tips from each of our famous five on this website, with this story being updated as their picks come in.
