Goodwood stages its final meeting of the 2013 season on Sunday afternoon.

It begins with the track’s annual race for National Hunt jockeys and features eight races after a mammoth number of entries.

Racecourse MD Adam Waterworth sad: “We have a couple of class-three handicaps on the card and I expect many people’s interest will be on looking out for some promising two-year-olds giving pointers for next season.

“One man in the limelight on Sunday will be Richard Hannon, who has already sewn up our Dick Hern Trophy – given to the trainer with the most wins across our season – which he won every year from 2008 to 2011.

“He’s had 16 winners here this season, which is staggering considering his closest rivals have won six each. If Richard does retire, this will be a great way to bow out.

“Hand in hand with his success is that of Richard Hughes, but he could still have a bit to do to finish as our top jockey for 2013, for he’s only two ahead of Ryan Moore.

“Whoever Sunday’s winners are, it should be a great day.”

There are a host of non-runners - many because of rain which has altered the going to soft.

Hannon, Hughes and Moore are all due to see plenty of action on a card that starts at 2pm, with the last race off at 5.45pm.

Our tips: 2.00 Opera Buff, 2.30 Nakuti, 3.05 Authorized Too, 3.40 While You Wait, 4.15 Zeshov, 4.45 Athenian, 5.15 Lady Pimpernell, 5.45 Mr Red Clubs.

See this website on Sunday evening for a round-up of the action.
