HAYLEY TURNER has signed up as ambassador to Goodwood racecourse for 2013 and she’ll be sharing her tips for each meeting with readers on this website.

Here are Hayley’s thoughts on tomorrow’s (May 4) season opener...

“In the first race, the Betfred TV EBF Maiden Stakes at 1.50, I like the look of Larsen Bay. He ran well on his debut and Tom Dascombe wouldn’t make the five-hour plus trip down to Goodwood if he didn’t strongly fancy this horse’s chances.

“Then in the second race, the Betfred The Bonus King EBF Daisy Warwick Stakes (Listed Race) at 2.20, I like the look of Coquet, she is a stand-out filly dropping in grade, who has won at the course before, and Hughie Morrison’s horses are flying.

Bravo Echo has a good each way chance in the 2.55, the Betfred Mobile Lotto Stakes - he is consistent, has a good draw and likes Goodwood.

“In the 3.30, the Betfred Mobile Sports Stakes, I think Lady Gibraltar has a chance. She is a course-and-distance winner with a good apprentice on board.

“I fancy Sentaril in the Betfred Mobile Casino British Stallion Studs EBF Conqueror Stakes (Listed Race) at 4.05. She is a lovely filly who I think will have progressed with age.

Grand Denial is my pick for the Betfred Still Treble Odds On Luckys Median Auction Maiden Stakes at 4.40 and in the 5.15, the Collect totepool Bets At Betfred Shops Stakes, I like the look of Jan de Heem as he is unexposed and runs for the first time in visors.”
