Hollingham finds his way to Festival of Speed
A co-driver from Felpham is to compete on the rally stage at the Festival Of Speed next week.
Bognor Regis Motor Club member Paul Hollingham will guide his regular driver Gary Le Coadou around the Goodwood rally stage in their Toyota Celica GT4.
Hollingham is a member of Bognor Regis Motor Club and has been rallying since 1988, competing in nearly 200 stage rallies in his career.
He teamed up with Le Coadou three years ago and together they have won six rallies, including their last two events.
The pair are competing on the BTRDA national asphalt championship and after two rounds are laying second overall.
The duo believe their car is the only one of its kind in the UK and will line-up alongside other rare versions of the model, including a group B Celica and a Corolla WRC with drivers such as British champion Jonny Milner and Scottish champion David Bogie at Goodwood on Friday of next week.
As the team mainly compete on asphalt rallies, Le Coadou and chief mechanic Rob King have little time to prepare the car into 'gravel spec' – ready for the Goodwood forest rally stage.
They have also been preparing for the Rally of the Midlands which is the next round of the asphalt championships.
The rally is a two-day event based around Hinckley, Leicestershire, covering 95 stage miles using venues including MIRA and Mallory
Park.
