Moore to come? Ryan hopes so...

Ryan Moore holds his lead in the bid to be Glorious Goodwood's leading jockey - while groundstaff keep a close eye on the rain that's arrived.

Moore is the only jockey to notch two wins so far, courtesy of day one success in the Betfair Gordon Stakes and the Detica Summer Stakes.

On Wednesday he was cut to 1-3 to lift the Racing post-sponsored prize by Stan James. Frankie Dettori is a 4-1 shot and Richard Hughes next best at 6-1.

Champion jockey Moore drew a blank on day two - but has an early chance to stretch his lead in the opener on Thursday when he rides Mirrored for Sir Michael Stoute in the Summer Vase Stakes.

Frankie Dettori is one of the riders one win behind him and he has been confirmed as the man to take the reins of Royal Ascot winner Spacious when she bids for a first Group 1 success in Saturday's Blue Square Nassau Stakes.

Meanwhile, clerk of the course Seamus Buckley was anticipating up to 4mm of rain by the start of racing on day three.

Leaving the going as good, Buckley said: "All the jockeys said it almost rode identical to yesterday although I was of the impression that it would ride that little bit faster. The ground is definitely drying out and we are anticipating having approximately 3-4mm of rain overnight.

"At this stage we are starting to need it and it should get us through the rest of the week without mentioning the word watering.

"There could be some passing showers tomorrow and Friday but it is not a lot. If the rain doesn't come I would anticipating the ground riding good to firm in the morning."
