It’s buzzing at Blues as they target promotion

CHICHESTER RFC president Gareth Webb has spoken of the ‘buzz’ around the club as they get stuck into another bid for promotion to the national leagues.

The Blues kick off their London one south campaign at home to Dover this Saturday and are hoping for plenty of local support at Oaklands Park.

Webb said: “We have a new first XV skipper in Jon Lindsay, and Rob Lawrence has stepped up to head coach.

“There has been an influx of new young homegrown talent plus some new experienced players – so there is a real buzz in the squad.

“Warm-up games against sides from two leagues above saw us beat Staines and narrowly lose to the big-spending Tonbridge Juddians.”

Kick-off this Saturday is 3pm - and the same applies a week later when Hove RFC visit Oaklands.

On that day, Webb is hosting one of the club’s famous pre-match lunches.
