John's big break is a record one

A record break has been recorded in an historic Bognor Regis building.

John Malin made a break of 87 in a match played in the snooker section of Bognor Bridge Club, which meets in the town's former assembly rooms now known as The Bognor Club.

His achievement came in a Wigley Cup competition against Ken Murphy.

The snooker section play in the peaceful and dignified atmosphere of the premises' ground-floor room, which has the original table and fittings from its time as a stately and elegant billiard room.

The bridge club is part of the Bognor Club, one of the occupiers of the Sudley Road premises.
