ARUN gymnasts Summer Riley, Isabella Woodward, Brooklyn Smith, Eva Rennie, Olivia Hepburn, Grace Callaway and Rosie Budge competed at the Wickers Invitational competition in Lancing and enjoyed great success.

The event was run over the beam, vault and bars, three of the four elements that make up womens’ artistic gymnastics and medals were awarded for rank within each element and overall position.

The best two performing Arun gymnasts on the day, Woodward and Budge, saw them put together superbly consistent performances across all three elements and finish their competition with four medals each. Isabella won silver medals for each individual event and was also placed second overall, while Rosie went slightly better winning a gold medal for her beam performance and two silver medals for bars and vault that was enough to place her first overall. Grace Callaway finished her competition with a gold medal for first place on beam, a silver in the vault and bronze overall in the team event.

Brooklyn Smith earned two bronze medals for her beam and bars and clinched fourth place overall.

Olivia Hepburn won a gold medal for her vault and Summer Riley, who was competing in her first competition, came away with a silver medal in the vault.

It proved to be a very successful day all round and coaches Carolyn Millar and Heather Wallace were pleased with all of the gymnasts performances.
