CHICHESTER’S big annual black-tie boxing show takes place on Saturday.

Chichester College is the venue this year for an event staged by Chichester Priory Rotary Club and St Gerards Amateur Boxing Club which is fast becoming a favourite fixture on the local sporting calendar.

As things stand, there will be seven contests for what is exepcted to be a large crowd.

These will feature a numbr of up-and-coming youngsters and be a mixture of junior and senior contests, with a number of boxers due to visit from other clubs.

A few standing tickets are available for £15 - but hurry as these are expected to sell out.

There are a few seated tables still going - these are £50 a head to include a four-course meal.

Start time for diners is 6.15pm, for the boxing only it’s 7.30pm. Anyone interested in tickets can contact Gerry Lavelle from St Gerards on 01243 251248.

See next week’s Observer for full coverage of the evening.
