Chichester College student Peter Berkley won bronze at the Association of Colleges national squash championships. The second-year sports science student won a place on the podium at the end of a competitive three days in Newcastle. He won five of his seven matches and was the only player to beat eventual winner Jared London. Nathan Warren, sports lecturer at Chichester College, said: “Peter put in a fantastic performance in Newcastle over the three days. “His all-round ability was clear to see in his five wins – and the other two matches were extremely close. “The commitment shown by Peter was not only evident on the court but also by his willingness to travel across the country and to commit his weekend to this three-day event. “It is a superb achievement and Peter is a great credit to our sports department and to Chichester College.” Berkley had qualified to represent the region at this national squash competition after his third-place finish at the AOC south-east regional tournament.
