ALDINGBOURNE racing driver Luke Herbert has been selected as one of Jason Plato’s prestigious KX Akademy drivers for the 2013 season.
The KX Akademy will provide financial backing for Herbert to compete in the 2013 Renault Clio Cup as well as being mentored by two-time British touring car champion Plato.
During the selection process he fought off stiff competition from more than 200 applicants to become one of 12 finalists. He then had to take part in a series of interviews before finding out he had been selected as one of five drivers to receive backing.
Herbert was recently voted as the top driver for 2012 by Motorsport News and came in third place in Autosport’s top drivers of 2012.
Herbert will offer local businesses the opportunity to join him at a BTCC race weekend with fully-catered hospitality and brand exposure for their company on the car.
You can see him at the Birmingham NEC between January 10 and 13 for the Autosport International Show, where he will be interviewed throughout the weekend on the main stage as well exhibiting his MX5 Cup-winning car on stand 7040.
