Dragon Flyers trampolinists wore the dragon with pride and determination as they competed at Team Lightning’s invitational grade I-A competition in Southampton.

Outstanding performances by all nine members secured medals and meant the club were unbeaten.

Emily Hunt and Flo Dempster and Karia Pullen and Charlotte Taylor began the gold rush winning the under-15 and under-15 elite synchro categories. Hunt, Pullen and Taylor all took first in their individual events.

Eleanor Morton (U11F), Izzy Hauxwell (U9G) and Anya Johnston (U11G) maintained the gold rush, with Alice Chapman and Dempster hot on team-mates’ heels with silver.

Johnston, Chapman and Jessica Lyne completed the day with under-11 team gold. A total of 14 gold medals and two silver made it a great start to the new season for the Dragon Flyers. Anyone interested in joining should call 01243 825015.

Meanwhile, Daisy Donoghue, Tegan Andrade-Paris and Kaylah Williams – all members of the Trampolining section of the Arun Gymnastic and Trampolining Clubs – were jumping for joy after passing their grade-one regional trampolining award at the grades competition at Worthing Leisure Centre.

The girls all had to complete two passes of the same routine which consisted of a seat landing to feet, a half twist jump, straddle jump, full twist jump, pike jump, another half twist jump, tuck jump and front drop to feet with the both scores added together for a total.

The girls all performed excellently with Daisy scoring 43.50, Tegan 43.20 and Kaylah 41.50. These results meant the team only narrowly miss out on a medal with a very close fourth-place finish in the team competition.
