The boys’ team swam well reaching the final in the freestyle relay and finished the event ninth overall.

The West Wittering girls’ team also swam well, getting into the final in both relay events and two individual events (freestyle and backstroke).

The girls swam faster times in the finals, where Rebecca Short came third in the backstroke final and Ella Bornhoft came first in the freestyle final.

The relay team won the medley relay and came fourth in the Ffreestyle relay. This meant the girls team came third overall – a great result.

Meanwhile, Bognor-based swimmers who compete for Littlehampton Swimming Club did extremely well in the Sussex long course swimming championships at the K2.

Archie Strowger, 13, claimed a silver medal in the 400m individual medley, four club records and one automatic and one base qualifying time for the regional championships. Ella Porter, 17, also claimed two long-course club records.
