The penultimate Wednesday of the university sport season saw three more University of Chichester teams secure BUCS league titles – making it six for the year.

The men’s football thirds defeated Reading seconds 2-0 to cap off a fine season for James Sandford’s boys.

The men’s lacrosse team won 9-8 away to top-of-the-table rivals Kent to win their league on superior goal difference and now head into next week’s South Eastern Cup final aiming for a double.

And the men’s hockey first team travelled to UCL and secured the point that clinched the league title in a 3-3 draw, Ben Cole with the equaliser.

Elsewhere there were comprehensive wins for men’s badminton, men’s football first, second and fifth teams and the men’s rugby second team.

Now another three teams could secure BUCS titles in what is already a record-breaking season at the university.
