Pupils from the Prebendal School in Chichester became one of the first school groups to be allowed in the commentary box at Lord’s with a special cake.

The Year 6 pupils took the cake – specially made for the BBC’s Test Match Special team – to the ground on the first day of the first Test between England and Sri Lanka.

Cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew and summariser Michael Vaughan spent several minutes live on air discussing the cake and how great it was.

Prebendal deputy head Tom Morgan said: “We had made the cake really hoping to be allowed to present it to them and they allowed us, which was fantastic. I can’t tell you how excited the children were!”
