More details of Sussex stalwart Chris Nash’s testimonial year have been announced as the batsman’s career is celebrated in 2017.

The 33-year-old, who came through the ranks at Horsham, has a number of events planned throughout the year to raise money for the Rockinghorse Children’s Charity and the Sussex Cricket Foundation.

We announced back in November that former Tanbridge House School pupil Nash intended to bring top-class cricket back to Cricketfield Road this summer with a game between Sussex and Horsham as part of his testimonial year.

Further plans have been announced with the opening lunch taking place at Brighton’s Grand Hotel on March 10. The guest speaker will be new Sussex Cricket CEO Rob Andrew - the former cricket and rugby player has 71 caps for England.

On May 18, there will be a dinner with Nash and South African cricketers ahead of the match between them and Sussex at the 1st Central County Ground the following day. The match between a Nash Testimonial XI and Sussex will take place in Horsham on June 21 with a lunch being held during the day.

On July 25 there will be a black tie dinner in the Long Room at Lord’s, while an Eastbourne Testimonial Year Lunch takes place at the Grand Hotel, in Eastbourne on November 17. The final event of the year takes place on December 13 when a closing Christmas lunch will take place in Brighton.
