GOODWOOD bosses say public interest in the new season is picking up sharply.

Tickets for the major flat-racing fixtures and festivals on the Downs are being snapped up as punters count down the days until the start of what should be another memorable season.

Racecourse MD Adam Waterworth said: “Ticket sales are really taking off now after a quiet spell. The advice would be, if you’re planning to buy, do it soon.”

Fixtures begin with the opening Saturday – May 3 – while other highlights include the May Festival (22-24), Three Friday Nights (June 6, 13 and 20), Glorious Goodwood (July 29-August 2) and the August bank holiday weeknd (August 22-24).

A new fixture takes place on Sunday, June 8 – a charity raceday when families will have access to areas normally out of bounds.

An alternative to the full membership package is a Gordon Enclosure season ticket.

It is £185 for the whole season and will get you into the enclosure, which adjoins the Richmond Enclosure, at every one of the 19 meetings – including the five days of Glorious Goodwood.
