VIDEO: Fontwell hope to avoid February frustration

There was more Fontwell frustration at the weekend as the racecourse lost a second consecutive fixture.

Last week’s rain was too much for the ground and Sunday’s fixture was abandoned as early as Friday.

It was the second Sunday in a row race-goers had missed out on a jump-racing card at the track.

It means Fontwell’s 2016 programme will not now get under way until Thursday, February 18.

That’s the next scheduled meeting, while the totepool National Spirit Hurdle celebrates its 51st year ten days later on Sunday, February 28.

Relive last year’s race, won by Kilcooley, in our video, above.
