Chichester v Three Bridges

Batting first, Three Bridges found scoring difficult thanks to the accurate bowling of stand-in captain Matthew Geffen and James Stedman, who both took three wickets each, assisted by some superb stuff from Australian Ashton Turner.

Three Bridges looked to be struggling at 79-4 from 30 overs. However, captain Danny Alderman (69) used his experience to guide his side to a respectable total of 208-8 where they declared.

With the match evenly balanced at the interval, the weather began to be more of a factor and brought stoppages in play. With the home side’s innings just 4.5 overs in, a heavy downpour interfered once again.

With more rain forecast, and an extremely wet outfield, the umpires and captains decided the game should be abandoned. Both sides took 10 points, a disappointing end to a fixture that both sides will have felt they could have won.

Preston Nomads are Saturday’s opponents.
