The fire service was also called out to Bosham Quay at around 12.30pm after several manhole covers burst flooding the area around the craft centre.
The area was cordoned off by the fire service and there were fears that the electricity supply would blow so everyone in the centre was told to switch the supply off.

Nikki Brown, who works in the craft centre said: "We open about 10am and at 12.30pm it was high tide. We heard a massive bang and a crash, I think the pressure of the water must have caused the manhole covers to explode, the water came right up just past Bosham Walk.

"We shut down the craft centre, and eveyone was worried that the electrics were going to blow, everything that was on was flashing."

An electrician was dispatched to the site this afternoon. Lights are now working but the Fudge Centre is still without power.
